Esute is developing in Japan. Though esute is for women several years ago, it is not only for women but also for men today. I see the advertisements for men on Television more often than before. The advertisements appointed Beckham, a famous soccer player, and some Japanese popular idols.
I think the most popular build for boys is, however, “soft macho”. It is slenderer than “macho”, but has a well-knit frame. After all, people tend to like moderate.

Marrige in Japan

Marriage rate in Japan is getting lower and lower and the average age who marries for the first time is getting older and older these days. The reasons I think are related to an employment opportunity. First, an employment opportunity for women is getting better than before. So, women think they want to work and to succeed on their jobs, but it is difficult for women to balance home with career. Next, women don’t need to depend on men for money anymore because of their jobs, that is to say, they can live without husband unlike before.
That is why marriage rate in Japan is getting lower and the average age who marries for the first time is getting older.

dating in Japan

I think both boys and girls in Japan start dating in their junior high school days. Typical dates for not only high school students but also college students and over are going to see a movie. Going to see a movie is popular for the first date, because they can talk about the movie that they are going to see or they saw. By talking about movie, they can learn what he or she like.

I often hear that the couple who went to Tokyo Disney Land for the first date breaks up. There are so many people in Disney Land. To ride the attraction, they have to wait for a long time. Though in the morning they can enjoy the conversation, in the afternoon the more tired they are, the less they talk. As a result, they feel awkward with them. So if you want to go to Tokyo Disney Land with your girlfriend or boyfriend, you need to date with him or her many times.

school groups

I think that we not a little have groups in school. It is natural for us to have group. Because there are many people in school, and we have little chance to know everyone. People usually think that “it is ok to have some friends.” Of course, the more they have friends, the more their radius of action and their horizons broaden. But it is important for us to cultivate closer relationships with some friends.
In the U.S it seems that they have a strong group consciousness. On the other hand, in Japan it seems that they don’t care of whether they belong to any group. They just want to be with friends with whom they are compatible.

Hello. my name is Yumi Kobayashi. I'm a freshman at School of Commerce.

I live in Kodaira in Tokyo. It takes one and half hour to go to Waseda.

My hobbies are listening music, eating delicious food, and shopping.I often listen J-POP, sometimes foreign music. I like going to Karaoke with my friends. I want to sing foreign songs very well someday.
